To be able to execute the kind of projects we do, you need to be good at planning. Through our extensive experience with extremely complex projects, we have developed a logical method that ensures we investigate each project’s creative potential across all design processes.

The Nordic Method

Our method is based on three pillars:

  • Conceptual thinking
  • Holistic approach
  • Documentation throughout

Although all projects require different approaches, our method stays broadly the same. It is built around classical problem-solving techniques: you observe, you think and you act. It is the way we carry out the process that makes us unique.

We gather all relevant material regarding the building process, investigate the location and talk to people. The aim is to get the best possible overview of any factors that might affect the project.

We analyse our research in order to gain insight and a deeper understanding. The analysis becomes the premise for the concepts we explore in the next phase.

Based on our findings, we develop a range of viewpoints and scenarios for various concepts. In this phase it's important to have an open and curious attitude so that no stone is left unturned.

After a thorough investigation, the project group commits to a concept or a combination of concepts, before proceeding to develop these in the next phase. This might require a reorganisation of the project group, bringing in diverse expertise across our team for the various stages.

The project is live and we'll follow it to its completion. Our method repeats itself in every phase throughout the project: looking, finding, exploring and choosing the best solutions for each step of the way.
