Together with Kulturhavn Gilleleje, we designed a versatile cultural and community centre in the heart of Gilleleje. With a strong focus on user involvement, the process resulted in a vibrant and active building that is well rooted in the local culture and community.

Together with Kulturhavn Gilleleje, we designed a versatile cultural and community centre in the heart of Gilleleje. With a strong focus on user involvement, the process resulted in a vibrant and active building that is well rooted in the local culture and community.

We aimed to create a modern building with classic elements in respect for the existing character of central Gilleleje. Despite its large size, the building’s programme allows for intimate experiences and interesting variety. This also helps to preserve the rhythm of the city.

The Gilleleje Culture House provides interior and exterior spaces for both socialising and contemplating.
