Villa Vettre is located on one of Oslo fjord’s most beautiful properties. The aim was to capture the unique qualities of the coastline and view of the fjord to the east. The building drapes itself around an outdoor atrium which faces the evening sun. The transparency of the building, with its large sliding doors to the atrium, connects exterior spaces and views and allows the atrium and the coastline to be visually connected through and across the house’s internal spaces.
The site is has a small private bay. This height difference in the terrain was used to create a spacious living room over 1.5 plans. The master bedroom is located on the upper plan with a panoramic view of the fjord. The high-quality and timeless material palette is a consistent theme throughout the house; it includes Kolumba bricks, zinc and oak. Exposed structural elements in steel have a dark grey finish.
