Nordic and Multiconsult to develop Bodø Harbor
The terminal area northeast of Bodø city center will be developed into an efficient logistics hub between rail, road, and sea. Bodø Harbor has chosen Nordic Office of Architecture and Multiconsult Norway as the advisory team for the task.
Bodø Harbor will be planned for the future, taking climate challenges seriously and creating enthusiasm among the client, users, the neighborhood, and the city.
The project will involve both the establishment of new terminal buildings, the demolition of old buildings, and the planning of roads and areas for handling goods. An important task will be to ensure a good connection between the harbor and the railway, and to facilitate flexibility and future development.
Bjørn Olav Susæg, Partner and Head of Infrastructure at Nordic, is very pleased to be selected to take on the project. “Bodø Harbor takes its social responsibility seriously, and Nordic and Multiconsult will contribute to finding solutions that meet the ambitions and needs of both the harbor and the city.”
“Terminal planning is a complex task with many specialized fields, and together we have ensured very high competence to solve the current challenges at Bodø Harbor. Now we look forward to starting the work,” says Project Manager at Multiconsult, Bjarne Fjærtoft.
