Livabygget at Førde Central Hospital - a new era in modern patient care
Opening the new Livabygget at Førde Central Hospital, the Norwegian Prime Minister praised the new hospital building and the project, emphasizing that a new hospital building in Norway should be considered one of the most modern hospital buildings anywhere in the world today.
We agree. Livabygget at Førde Central Hospital marks a new era in modern patient care, where healing architecture is designed with compassion and empathy.
Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre highlighted the building’s modernity and excellence, reflecting Norway’s ambition and capability in healthcare infrastructure. He noted that the building is a sober construction, delivered on time and within budget, with a focus on quality and effective use of space and resources.
“Sobriety implies that we have invested a lot of time and effort in finding good solutions that are both space- and cost-effective, without them being simple or boring.” Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre.
“In his opening, the Prime Minister emphasized that Livabygget makes the best of its location and shows a well-thought-out care for, and wealth of, detail in everything from facade design to color scheme.
Everything is designed with the best interests of the patients and the employees in the first place,” says Camilla Heier Anglero, Partner and Head of Healthcare Design.
Støre also underscored the importance of collective responsibility in healthcare, noting that the new building is a testament to the community’s investment in health and well-being. The thoughtful design of the building prioritizes the needs of patients and staff, from the facade to the interior details.
Livabygget at Førde Central Hospital is not just a building; it is a symbol of our commitment to providing the best possible care for our community. It represents a collaborative effort to create a space that promotes healing and well-being for all who enter its doors.
We are very proud to be part of this landmark project, and continue to shape living communities through cooperation, inspired by nature, focused on simplicity, and enhanced by diversity. Congratulations to Helse Førde and all involved for setting a new global standard in healthcare design. We would also like to congratulate and thank the highly skilled engineers from Norconsult and the dedicated Veidekke Norge team for a successful cooperation.
