Noida International Airport - one step closer to commercial operation
Noida International Airport (NIA) is on track for validation flights by December 2024 and commercial operations in April 2025 - a project set to significantly enhance mobility and transportation in the region.
The NIA is strategically located to serve as a major aviation hub for the National Capital Region (NCR) and adjoining districts of Uttar Pradesh. Development is carried out in phases, with the first phase designed to handle 12 million passengers annually. Upon completion, the airport will facilitate seamless connectivity through a Ground Transportation Centre, integrating metro, high-speed rail, taxi, and bus services.
This multi-modal connectivity will not only improve access to the airport but also boost regional transportation infrastructure, making travel more efficient and convenient for millions of passengers. The airport’s role in enhancing domestic and international connectivity will be pivotal in supporting the growth of Indian aviation and the broader economy.
The project consists of an international joint venture team lead by Nordic Office of Architecture, Haptic Architects and Grimshaw. We are proud to contribute to a project that will have such a profound impact on mobility and transportation, fostering greater connectivity and economic development in the region.
