A world-class media house

The future headquarters of the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) in Oslo will be a world-class media house, reflecting its role as a social institution and cultural communicator, and setting a new standard for sustainability, flexibility, and interaction.

Strategically located on a site that gives NRK a prominent position in the urban landscape, the building will open up towards the city and the surrounding neighbourhood.

After a thorough assessment, the jury unanimously supported the proposal Sirkulær. It was the one that best met our needs and the competition’s award criteria. The solution appears solid, robust, open, and inviting. We believe this concept gives us the best foundation for succeeding as a unified and powerful media house in the future. Flow and flexibility

The architecture enables precise logistics and seamless interaction between NRK’s many functions. Loading zones, technical rooms, and studios are carefully positioned for optimal efficiency, while the news floors are designed to meet the demands of tomorrow in terms of flexibility and technology.

Great emphasis has been placed on creating proximity between core and support functions, ensuring improved workflow and room for creative development.

Built for the future

The sustainability ambitions are high. The building will meet FutureBuilt’s criteria through innovative solutions, flexible use, and optimal utilisation of the site’s resources. Through robust and future-oriented architecture, solutions can be easily adapted to new needs over time.

Inspiring and inclusive

NRK Normannsløkka will be more than just a building – it will be a living part of the city and an inspiring and inclusive environment for employees, visitors, and the local community.
