Long term planning

Since 2015, Nordic has been working with Swedavia as Airport Designer. The assignments have been on an overall level, with the masterplan and long-term development of the terminal, but also several expansion and remodeling projects, including extending the commercial areas and upgrading the baggage handling system.

Go to gate

The largest of the projects is a new Pier, extending Terminal 5 with increased capacity for international flights. With a new Transfer center and 7 new MARS stands (Multi Aircraft Ramp System) with multi-level boarding bridges, the new Pier provides great flexibility in operations, clear wayfinding, and a very good passenger experience.

Pier review

The pier is designed to express a clear Scandinavian ambience. It uses a selection of beautiful and natural materials, simplicity and functionality in detailing, excellent daylight conditions, and good views out to the apron and surrounding landscape.
