A new cultural hot spot

The new Cultural Quarter in Tromsø will be the starting point for a new vibrant district in the city. Located on the site of an old brewery, it will house facilities for the Arctic Philharmonic and the Northern Norwegian Art Museum in one building, aiming to attract visitors from near and far.

With our concept “Samklang” (“Harmony”), we unify the two institutions through a central core that spans all floors and elegantly distributes the audience and visitors across all levels. Eva Schwärzler

Versatile concert hall

The concert hall seamlessly blends elegant, modern design with a high functionality. Its fan shape and acoustics deliver a powerful, enveloping sound. Versatile, it transitions effortlessly from orchestra to theater.

Protected from the elements

The two houses will be nestled within a protective shell, its brightness standing out during the long dark periods. The compact volume, with its limited facade area, is also a significant advantage from a sustainability perspective.

By combining music, performing arts, and an art museum, we lay the foundation for a cultural quarter brimming with unique experiences and a new landmark in the Arctic city. Thomas Lindgård Fagernes

Natural beaty

The chamber hall, boasting spectacular views and flexible design, is perfect for diverse events. Its dedicated lobby caters to both intimate performances and larger gatherings.
