VIZ
As part of the holistic masterplan for central Voss, we developed the new public transportation hub to transform the passenger experience with improved connections between train, gondola, bus, taxi and bicycle.
Historic context
Located in a historic area of Voss, the new hub neighbours the old train station from 1883. The new terminal building is seamlessly placed in the terrain below, with a brick facade complementing the first floor of the historic building.
Continuous architectural theme
We integrated the new station with the existing brick base to ensure a common design language across commercial developments, hotels and offices.
Access and shelter
The project features streamlined access between street and platform levels and protection against wind and rain. The welcoming waiting area on street level includes toilets, information boards and storage facilities for travellers, as well as retail units and sheltered bicycle parking. On the roof at platform level there is a new public square with seating for enjoying the view of Vangsvannet lake nearby.
