Transformation
The transformation initiatives at Gentofte College include elevating its teaching, cultural, and sports amenities through the redevelopment of a historic listed building and the construction of a new multi-purpose hall. This ambitious endeavor has enriched both teaching facilities and extracurricular life at the institution.
Our architectural approach was highly focused on aesthetics as well as practical solutions. The aesthetic approach included creating a coherent design expression that visually harmonises with surrounding buildings. A high degree of flexibility was also required for this project — we had to deliver a programme with broad functionality and resolve challenges including a tight budget and high preservation demands.
Our design concept was based on creating outdoor spaces, seating niches and bicycle parking around the building.
Daylight and views
The multi-purpose hall is equipped with carefully placed windows to optimise daylight and views and is designed to improve acoustic quality.
