Twice the winning bid
In 2014 Nordic's team carried out a preliminary project for the new police emergency unit. Located at Alna in Oslo, the unit consolidates the emergency squad, helicopter service, bomb group and crisis and hostage negotiation service.
The site was subsequently considered too small and a new competition was announced for a different site. Nordic along with the rest of the original team won the competition yet again and has now started work on the new project.
Focal points
The design team has maintained a strong focus on function, efficiency, security, analysis of the various department structures, collaboration, emergency deployment and logistics throughout the project.
Designing for the users
The proposal reflects a methodical process; where program, features and specific guidelines are broken down into units, then analysed and assembled into generic models in close cooperation with users.
