A tricky operation
When Oslo University Hospital needed to expand Ullevål emergency rooms with an additional building, Nordic took on a tricky assignment. The new building had to be constructed while keeping the emergency rooms operational, in an area where space, building regulations and other factors required exceptional planning and execution.
Extensive care
The new building includes emergency rooms and an operating division with seven theatres, as well as an intensive care unit with a capacity for twelve patients.
Historical context
The project called for the design and construction of a new building close to historically listed sites, which meant that one of our most important tasks was maintaining a constructive dialogue with the Directorate for Cultural Heritage.
