We are building sustainable multi-storey wooden residences as part of a visionary masterplan for Fælledby, a new green district in Amager Fælled in Copenhagen. The buildings will be built on a parking plinth, shared by the entire neighbourhood.
A sustainable district
Fælledby will provide sustainable and attractive homes of various sizes for a wide range of residents and family structures. Additionally, two separate residential communities will offer public housing, supplemented by shared facilities available to everyone.
Common to all homes is the proximity to other like-minded people, access to common areas and functional spaces such as storage.
In Fælledby, urban and natural settings converge in new forms of coexistence. The protected Amager Fælled weaves throughout the district's three neighborhoods and ensures a nature experience and high biodiversity. The urban environment is designed area-efficiently to support a sustainable lifestyle and minimise resource consumption. The project will be DGNB gold certified.
The sustainable lifestyle in Fælledby can be experienced on multiple levels. At the district level, there will be a low degree of traffic, a high degree of green environments and close access to public transportation and Amager Fælled's beautiful nature. The buildings have a simple design clad by beautiful and robust materials. For the interior, we focused on a comfortable indoor climate and efficient rooms with ample storage space and the opportunity for residents to personalise their home.
