On the waterfront

Over the next few years, change is coming to Kolbotn. With more people and businesses moving in, Kolbotn needs a plan for the future. Our vision unites the urban landscape with the natural setting and the local lake, inspiring an active, urban lifestyle.

Three elements

Our vision consists of three main elements – nature, water and people – that define and shape the overall project:

Green fingers
Green areas reach out through the town centre like the fingers on a hand, linking the urban structure to the surrounding landscape.

Lakeside
The building strategy for Kolbotn is to further develop the shores of Kolbotn lake, strengthening the town's lakeside identity. Starting in the centre, new houses and projects will fan out through the 'green fingers', creating natural connections between city, nature and water.

Activate main street
A city needs an active and inspiring main street like a body needs a heart. By developing the train station for better flow and letting it extend to and along the waterfront, we create a natural meeting point and balance the relationship between public and private space.
