From shopping centre to city

Nordic's winning submission to design a new urban centre in Straume outside Bergen was based on a transformative concept in which the existing shopping centre was redefined as a living, breathing city.

On completion, Straume's city centre will include a large public square with associated buildings comprising a landmark high rise building with 14 floors of office accommodation, as well as the city library. A concept for the further development of the surrounding area with residential and commercial use has also been produced.
