Bergen and Omland Port Authority identified three sites in Bergen's inner harbour for development. The architectural competition's aim was to create a holistic solution where the different sites are to be used for distinct yet complementary purposes.
Site 1: Cruise ship port
The current cruise ship port in Bergen is too small. Nordic’s proposal includes an expansion of the existing port, which will comprise hotels and retail facilities.
Site 2: Living and working
Some of the areas in Tollbodkaien, one of the oldest port areas in Bergen, are currently unused. Nordic’s plan is to redefine the area for residential purposes, creating homes as well as spaces for public functions.
Site 3: Homes
This narrow quay front site provides an opportunity for attractive dwellings. Nordic’s proposal reflects the character of the location and offers excellent connections to nearby educational institutions and the city centre.
